Adventure Aquarium

Adventure Aquarium is chock full of things to see and do for hours of family fun whether visiting penguins, hippos and sea creatures or attending a live show featuring divers and sharks. Walk through the twists and turns of the serene exhibit of brightly colored tropical fish and press your nose up against the movie screen sized windows of the home of stingrays, sharks and sea turtles. Head into the Amazon rainforest where red-bellied piranha swim beneath two waterfalls and the rain storms roll in complete with realistic sound and weather effects.  Walk on the world’s longest Shark Bridge, a V-shaped rope suspension bridge hovering just inches above Shark Realm, if you dare.

All shows are included in the general admission price and you’ll want to visit several of them to really enhance your experience of aquatic life. Watch the feedings of little blue penguins or Button and Genny Hippo, see Hippo Bedtime, meet the divers, enjoy talks about sharks, or feed the friendly stingrays. Continue the fun and excitement at a 3D theater featuring Penguin City, home to six million penguins as well as albatrosses, fur seals, and brawling elephant seals. The story is an unforgettable drama about King Penguin who must defend his offspring against harsh weather and fierce predators.

Take the younger kids to KidZone, designed for those aged 6 and under, where they can touch, smell, climb, crawl, and interact to their heart’s content. Children will love touching the various species in these exhibits and enjoy a space sized just right.  Extend the fun by venturing outside to Penguin Park, a newly reopened outdoor exhibit where you can get up-close with African penguins, an all-time favorite, enjoying their new paradise. Let the kids run around in a new, soft play area at Explorers Cove featuring seven nautical-themed climbing structures including a pirate ship, a hammerhead shark, stingrays and sea stars.

Be sure to stop into the Feeding Frenzy Café to feed yourself and your entourage, and visit the Gift Shop to check out the Adopt-an-animal program or purchase some penguin artwork!
