Little Havana Cultural Adventure

It’s a real treat to have a Cuban native lead you through the streets of Little Havana, showing you the real scene and taking you to the favorite hot spots of the locals. Miami is the most Cuban-influenced city in America and you’ll have a local English speaking guide to tell you all about it.

You’ll set out from either Marlins Park (seasonal) or the Freedom Tower, both of which are historic landmarks dear to the community. Architectural beauties and unique art collections offer a wonderful start to your adventure. Of course, you will need refreshment and some energy for this tour so you’ll be stopping for a genuine Cuban coffee, cortadito, and Cuban pastry to give you an extra boost.

A Cuban adventure would not be complete without a stop at the cigar shop, and you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at rolling your very own fine cigar. A world master of tobacco at the Gran Habano factory will teach you the tricks of the trade.

Next, off you go to meet Roberto Ramos, a Cuban historian and collector of art. As founder of Cuba Ocho, he’s only too delighted to show you the collection dating from 1803 to 1958. At this point you are probably thirsty again, so you’ll be sipping on mojitos while listening to Ramos talk about his remarkable journey to preserve paintings and history.

Back on the street, Caribbean vibes surround you as you walk past the Bay of Pigs monument enroute to a juice bar for a dose of sugarcane juice or freshly cut coconut. Visit SW 8th St to hear the live Conga street performers and watch the locals at Domino Park playing dominoes.

Altogether, this is a remarkably unique yet authentic trip to experience Cuban culture for yourself.

Hours: Wednesday-Sunday 10am or 2pm | Reservations Required
Closed: January 20th, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years
Location: Starting and ending point Cubaocho, 1465 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL
