Los Angeles

Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Tour

Lace up your hiking shoes for approximately 2 miles of moderately paced walking in addition to a half hour of hiking up a steep hill at a leisurely pace to Griffith Park. A bird’s eye view of Los Angeles rewards your efforts as you amble through the sprawling green hillsides of the park.

You’ll begin your tour with a short hike to see the Hollywood sign and L.A. skyline from a unique vantage point as well as the sophisticated Los Feliz neighborhood, an area of multi-million- dollar homes including two designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Your tour guide is highly knowledgeable about L.A. and its history and will share the legends of some of Tinseltown’s giants such as James Dean during your climb around town and up the steep but short hills to the Griffith Observatory.  Throughout the entire tour you’ll be climbing the equivalent of about 15 flights of stairs but at a moderately slow pace, stopping frequently to admire the views and take spectacular photos. If you’re lucky, you may even see a filming crew.

The Observatory itself is an art deco masterpiece with sweeping terraces from which you’ll have unparalleled views of the city. You won’t want to miss this visual treat, and it’s also a great way to get in your daily exercise while hearing the history of this spectacular terrain.
