Ben Franklin Historic Square Mile Tour

Calling all history buffs! Tour Philly with Ben Franklin himself on a 2-hour pedicycle excursion – no one knows this city like Ben! Ben will retrace the footsteps of his fellow founding fathers during the days of our nation’s birth.

Born in Boston in 1706, Benjamin Franklin helped to draft the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. A printer and a writer known for his humor and wisdom was a jack of all trades – he researched electricity, mathematics, mapmaking, invented bifocal glasses, published Poor Richard’s Almanac and organized the first successful American lending library.

Philadelphia is where the American Dream was founded, where courageous visionaries created the model for modern-day democracy that inspires people around the world to embrace the power of the people. Highlights of this tour include Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Carpenters’ Hall, Christ Church where Franklin and fellow patriots worshipped, the Betsy Ross House where the flag was made, and the Christ Church Burial Ground where he and other historic leaders were laid to rest.

The Big Red Pedicycle is a 15-guest bike acting as an open-air tour bus. There are 12 seats lining both sides for pedalers and a back bench for three riders to sit on. The group works together to casually pedal around Philly stopping at historic sites during the day and popular pubs at night. Team work makes the dream work!

Location: Silence Dogood’s Tavern, 216 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
