South Rim Bus Tour

Sit back and relax as you let Sweetours transport you to see the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Your day trip will have you out for about 14 hours, from pick up at your hotel to drop off at same location upon return. In the morning you’ll get your day off to a good start with a nutritious snack and juice, and at noon your deli lunch will be your choice of roast beef, ham, turkey, or vegetarian sandwiches. Bottled water is included all day and is unlimited.

The South Rim of the Canyon is open all year and is the most frequently visited rim. Here you’ll find Grand Canyon Village, the center of activity with three main areas of interest.

· Visitor Center/Mather Point – Most visitors get their first look at the Grand Canyon from this vantage point
· Market Plaza – Business Center with General Store, Bank and P.O.
· Historic District – Railroad depot and original lodges

Stretch your legs after your bus ride full of narration and fun, by exploring at your leisure or taking a 2.5 mile hike. A paved trail runs from Mather Point to Grand Canyon Village, providing exquisite panoramic views of the canyon, the Colorado River, and Phantom Ranch, the only lodging below the canyon rim. Enjoy the breezes wafting through the pinion and juniper pines as you combine sightseeing and exercise.

Another alternative is to take shuttle buses from station to station, making the most of the few hours you’ll have for exploring the surroundings. At the Visitor Center you’ll find outdoor exhibits and tips for what to see and do. Visit the Hopi House or Kolb Studio, see the mule corral and walk some trails. Visit gift shops and check out the Yavapai Lodge. And of course, take plenty of time to just sit and see the magnificent beauty of the Grand Canyon.

Be sure to wear good walking shoes for this trip!
